Cleansing from Skin Diseases

14:1And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: 2This shall be the Torah of the leper in the day of his cleansing: and he shall be brought to the priest. 3And the priest shall go out to outside the camp; and the priest shall look, and behold, the plague of leprosy is healed in the leper, 4then the priest shall command, and he shall take for the one being cleansed two living clean birds, and cedar wood, and scarlet of worm, and hyssop.

5And the priest shall command, and he shall slaughter the one bird into an earthen vessel over living water. 6As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet of worm, and the hyssop, and he shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the slaughtered bird over the living water. 7And he shall sprinkle upon the one being cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and he shall pronounce him clean, and he shall send away the living bird upon the face of the field.

8And the one being cleansed shall wash his garments, and shave off all his hair, and bathe in water, and he shall be clean; and afterward he shall come into the camp, and he shall dwell outside his tent seven days. 9And it shall be on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair: his head and his beard and the eyebrows of his eyes, even all his hair he shall shave; and he shall wash his garments, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and he shall be clean.

10And on the eighth day he shall take two male lambs without blemish, and one ewe-lamb a daughter of her year without blemish, and three tenth-parts of fine flour for a grain offering mingled with oil, and one log of oil. 11And the priest who cleanses shall present the man who is being cleansed, and them, before the LORD at the entrance of the tent of appointed time (mo-ed).

12And the priest shall take the one lamb, and bring it near for a guilt offering, and the log of oil, and he shall wave them as a wave offering before the LORD.

14:13And he shall slaughter the lamb in the place where he slaughters the sin offering and the burnt offering, in the holy place; for as the sin offering, the guilt offering is for the priest: it is holy of holies.

14And the priest shall take of the blood of the guilt offering, and the priest shall put it upon the tip of the right ear of the one being cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the big toe of his right foot. 15And the priest shall take of the log of oil, and pour it upon the palm of the priest's left hand. 16And the priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is upon his left palm, and he shall sprinkle of the oil with his finger seven times before the LORD. 17And of the rest of the oil that is upon his palm the priest shall put upon the tip of the right ear of the one being cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the big toe of his right foot, upon the blood of the guilt offering.

18And the remainder of the oil that is upon the priest's palm he shall put upon the head of the one being cleansed; and the priest shall make atonement for him before the LORD. 19And the priest shall offer the sin offering, and make atonement for the one being cleansed from his uncleanness; and afterward he shall slaughter the burnt offering. 20And the priest shall offer up the burnt offering and the grain offering on the altar; and the priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be clean.

14:21And if he is poor, and his hand does not reach, then he shall take one lamb as a guilt offering for waving, to make atonement for him, and one tenth-part of fine flour mingled with oil for a grain offering, and a log of oil; 22and two turtledoves, or two sons of a dove, such as his hand reaches; and one shall be a sin offering, and the one a burnt offering.

23And he shall bring them on the eighth day for his cleansing to the priest, to the entrance of the tent of appointed time (mo-ed), before the LORD. 24And the priest shall take the lamb of the guilt offering, and the log of oil, and the priest shall wave them as a wave offering before the LORD.

25And he shall slaughter the lamb of the guilt offering, and the priest shall take of the blood of the guilt offering, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of the one being cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the big toe of his right foot. 26And of the oil the priest shall pour upon the priest's left palm. 27And the priest shall sprinkle with his right finger of the oil that is upon his left palm seven times before the LORD. 28And the priest shall put of the oil that is upon his palm upon the tip of the right ear of the one being cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the big toe of his right foot, upon the place of the blood of the guilt offering.

29And the remainder of the oil that is upon the priest's palm he shall put upon the head of the one being cleansed, to make atonement for him before the LORD. 30And he shall offer one of the turtledoves, or of the sons of the dove, of that which his hand reaches; 31that which his hand reaches, the one a sin offering and the one a burnt offering, with the grain offering; and the priest shall make atonement for the one being cleansed before the LORD.

32This is the Torah of him in whom is the plague of leprosy, whose hand does not reach in his cleansing.

A Plague in a House

14:33And the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying: 34When you come into the land of Canaan, which I am giving to you for a possession, and I put a plague of leprosy in a house of the land of your possession, 35then he whose house it is shall come and tell the priest, saying, "Something like a plague has appeared to me in the house."

36And the priest shall command, and they shall clear the house before the priest comes to see the plague, that all that is in the house not be made unclean; and afterward the priest shall come to see the house.

37And he shall look at the plague, and behold, if the plague is in the walls of the house with hollow streaks, greenish or reddish, and their appearance is lower than the wall, 38then the priest shall go out of the house to the entrance of the house, and he shall shut up the house seven days.

39And the priest shall return on the seventh day, and he shall look, and behold, if the plague has spread in the walls of the house, 40then the priest shall command, and they shall pull out the stones in which the plague is, and cast them outside the city to an unclean place. 41And he shall scrape the house within round about, and they shall pour out the dust that they have scraped off outside the city to an unclean place.

42And they shall take other stones, and bring them in place of the stones; and he shall take other dust, and plaster the house.

43And if the plague returns and breaks out in the house, after he has pulled out the stones, and after the house has been scraped, and after it has been plastered, 44then the priest shall come and look, and behold, if the plague has spread in the house, it is a malignant leprosy in the house: it is unclean. 45And he shall break down the house, its stones, and its timbers, and all the dust of the house; and he shall carry it out outside the city to an unclean place. 46And he who comes into the house all the days it is shut up shall be unclean before(ad עד) the evening. 47And he who lies down in the house shall wash his garments; and he who eats in the house shall wash his garments.

Cleansing a Home

48And if the priest indeed comes and looks, and behold, the plague has not spread in the house after the house was plastered, then the priest shall pronounce the house clean, because the plague is healed.

49And he shall take to purify the house two birds, and cedar wood, and scarlet of worm, and hyssop. 50And he shall slaughter the one bird into an earthen vessel over living water.

51And he shall take the cedar wood, and the hyssop, and the scarlet of worm, and the living bird, and he shall dip them in the blood of the slaughtered bird and in the living water, and he shall sprinkle the house seven times. 52And he shall purify the house with the blood of the bird, and with the living water, and with the living bird, and with the cedar wood, and with the hyssop, and with the scarlet of worm.

53And he shall send away the living bird outside the city upon the face of the field; and he shall make atonement for the house, and it shall be clean.

The Uncleanness of Men

15:1And the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying: 2Speak to the sons of Israel, and you shall say to them: A man, a man, when he becomes one having a discharge from his flesh, his discharge is unclean. 3And this shall be his uncleanness in his discharge: whether his flesh runs with his discharge, or his flesh is stopped from his discharge, it is his uncleanness.

4Every bed on which he that has the discharge lies shall be unclean, and every vessel on which he sits shall be unclean. 5And a man who touches his bed shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean before(ad עד) the evening. 6And he that sits on the vessel on which he that has the discharge sat shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean before(ad עד) the evening.

7And he that touches the flesh of him that has the discharge shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean before(ad עד) the evening. 8And when he that has the discharge spits on him that is clean, then he shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean before(ad עד) the evening.

9And every saddle on which he that has the discharge rides shall be unclean. 10And everyone who touches anything that was under him shall be unclean until the evening; and he that carries them shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean until the evening.

11And everyone whom he that has the discharge touches, when he has not rinsed his hands in water, shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean before(ad עד) the evening. 12And the earthen vessel that he that has the discharge touches shall be broken; and every vessel of wood shall be rinsed in water.

The Cleansing of Men

13And when he that has the discharge is cleansed of his discharge, then he shall number to himself seven days for his cleansing, and wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in living water, and be clean. 14And on the eighth day he shall take to himself two turtledoves, or two sons of a dove, and come before the LORD to the opening of the tent of appointed time (mo-ed), and give them to the priest. 15And the priest shall offer them, one a sin offering and the one a burnt offering; and the priest shall make atonement for him before the LORD for his discharge.

15:16And a man, when an emission of seed goes out from him, then he shall bathe all his flesh in water, and be unclean before(ad עד) the evening. 17And every garment and every skin on which is the emission of seed shall be washed in water, and be unclean before(ad עד) the evening. 18And a woman with whom a man lies, an emission of seed, they shall both bathe in water, and be unclean before(ad עד) the evening.

The Uncleanness of Women

19And a woman, when she has a discharge, and her discharge in her flesh is blood, she shall be in her menstrual impurity seven days; and everyone who touches her shall be unclean before(ad עד) the evening. 20And everything on which she lies in her menstrual impurity shall be unclean, and everything on which she sits shall be unclean. 21And everyone who touches her bed shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean before(ad עד) the evening.

The Syrians Flee

7:3And four men were lepers at the entrance of the gate; and they said each man to his neighbor, "Why are we sitting here until we die? 4If we say, 'We will enter the city,' then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there; and if we sit here, we die also. So now, come, and let us fall to the camp of Aram; if they keep us alive, we shall live, and if they kill us, we shall die."

5And they rose up in the twilight to go to the camp of Aram; and they came to the edge of the camp of Aram, and behold, there was no man there. 6And my Lord had made the camp of Aram to hear a sound of chariots, a sound of horses, a sound of a great force; and they said each man to his brother, "Behold, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Egypt to come against us."

7And they rose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents and their horses and their donkeys—the camp as it was—and fled for their soul.

8And these lepers came to the edge of the camp, and they entered into one tent, and ate and drank, and carried from there silver and gold and garments, and went and hid them; and they returned and entered into another tent, and carried from there, and went and hid them.

9And they said each man to his neighbor, "We are not doing right. This day is a day of good tidings, and we are keeping silent; if we wait until the morning light, iniquity will find us. So now, come, let us go and tell the house of the king."

10And they came and called to the gatekeeper of the city, and told them, saying, "We came to the camp of Aram, and behold, there was no man there, nor voice of man, but the horse tied, and the donkey tied, and the tents as they were."

11And the gatekeepers called out, and they told it within the house of the king.

12And the king rose in the night and said to his servants, "Let me tell you now what Aram has done to us. They know that we are hungry, and they have gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, 'When they come out of the city, we shall catch them alive, and we shall enter into the city.'"

13And one of his servants answered and said, "Let them take now five of the horses that remain, which are left in it—behold, they are like all the multitude of Israel that are left in it; behold, they are like all the multitude of Israel that have perished—and let us send and see."

14And they took two chariots of horses, and the king sent after the camp of Aram, saying, "Go and see." 15And they went after them to the Jordan, and behold, all the way was full of garments and vessels which the Arameans had thrown away in their haste. And the messengers returned and told the king.

Elisha’s Prophecy Fulfilled

16And the people went out and plundered the camp of Aram. And a seah of fine flour was for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, according to the word of the LORD.

17And the king had appointed the captain on whose hand he leaned over the gate; and the people trampled him in the gate, and he died, as the man of God had spoken, who spoke when the king came down to him. 18And it came to pass, as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, "Two seahs of barley for a shekel, and a seah of fine flour for a shekel, shall be about this time tomorrow in the gate of Samaria";

19and the captain had answered the man of God and said, "And behold, if the LORD were making windows in the heavens, could it be according to this thing?" And he said, "Behold, you are about to see it with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it";

20and so it came to pass to him; and the people trampled him in the gate, and he died.

The Leper’s Prayer

8:1And when He had come down from the mountain, large crowds followed Him. 2And behold, a leper came and was worshiping Him, saying: "Lord, if You are willing, You are able to make me clean."

3And stretching out His hand, Yeshua touched him, saying: "I am willing — be cleansed" — and immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

4And Yeshua said to him: "See that you tell no one, but go, show yourself to the priest and present the offering that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."
