Read the Scriptures in the words they were written in

For students who wish to read the Hebrew Scriptures in the Masoretic text and analyze each word with the original-language tools of the YLV Bible. No prior knowledge of Hebrew is required.

1. The Hebrew alphabet, vowel points and reading aloud
2. Basic grammar: nouns, verbs and their forms
3. Word analysis with the YLV lexicon and the Hebrew text (OSHB)
4. Reading passages from the Torah, the Prophets and the Writings
5. Examinations and the certificate

For students who wish to read the New Testament in Koine Greek, the common Greek in which it was written, and analyze each word with the original-language tools of the YLV Bible. No prior knowledge of Greek is required.

1. The Greek alphabet and reading aloud
2. Basic grammar: cases, verbs and their forms
3. Word analysis with the YLV lexicon and the Greek text (RP 2018)
4. Reading passages from the Gospels, Acts and the letters
5. Examinations and the certificate

For those who have completed the Hebrew or the Greek certificate. Students will learn to explain a passage from its own words, its context, and the language, history and customs of its first hearers, without adding to what the text says.

1. Completion of certificate 01 or 02
2. Context: the passage, the book and the whole of Scripture
3. The first hearers: their language, history, calendar and customs
4. A written exegesis of an assigned passage
5. Examinations and the certificate
