Offerings for the Tabernacle

25:1And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: 2Speak to the sons of Israel, that they take for me an offering; from every man whose heart makes him willing you shall take my offering. 3And this is the offering which you shall take from them: gold, and silver, and bronze;

4and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' hair;

5and rams' skins dyed red, and skins of tachash, and acacia wood;

6oil for the light, spices for the oil of anointing, and for the incense of the spices;

7stones of onyx, and stones of setting, for the ephod and for the breastplate.

8And they shall make for me a sanctuary, that I may dwell in their midst. 9According to all that I show you—the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all its vessels—even so you shall make it.

The Ark of the Covenant

10And they shall make an ark of acacia wood: two cubits and a half its length, and a cubit and a half its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height. 11And you shall overlay it with pure gold; within and without you shall overlay it; and you shall make upon it a rim of gold round about.

12And you shall cast for it four rings of gold, and put them on its four feet; and two rings on its one side, and two rings on its other side. 13And you shall make staves of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold. 14And you shall bring the staves into the rings on the sides of the ark, to carry the ark with them. 15In the rings of the ark shall the staves be; they shall not be removed from it. 16And you shall put into the ark the testimony which I shall give to you.

The Mercy Seat

25:17And you shall make a cover of pure gold: two cubits and a half its length, and a cubit and a half its breadth. 18And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of beaten work you shall make them, from the two ends of the cover. 19And make one cherub from the one end, and one cherub from the other end; from the cover you shall make the cherubim on its two ends. 20And the cherubim shall be spreading out wings on high, covering with their wings over the cover; and their faces a man toward his brother; toward the cover shall the faces of the cherubim be.

21And you shall put the cover upon the ark from above; and into the ark you shall put the testimony which I shall give to you.

22And I will meet with you there, and I will speak with you from above the cover, from between the two cherubim which are upon the ark of the testimony, all that I will command you to the sons of Israel.

The Table of Showbread

23And you shall make a table of acacia wood: two cubits its length, and a cubit its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height. 24And you shall overlay it with pure gold, and make for it a rim of gold round about. 25And you shall make for it a border of a handbreadth round about, and you shall make a rim of gold for its border round about.

26And you shall make for it four rings of gold, and put the rings on the four corners that are at its four feet. 27Close by the border shall the rings be, for holders for the staves, to carry the table. 28And you shall make the staves of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold, that the table may be carried with them.

29And you shall make its dishes, and its pans, and its jars, and its bowls, with which it shall be poured out; of pure gold you shall make them.

30And you shall set upon the table bread of the Presence before my face continually.

The Lampstand

31And you shall make a lampstand of pure gold; of beaten work shall the lampstand be made—its base and its shaft; its cups, its knobs, and its flowers shall be from it.

32And six branches going out from its sides: three branches of the lampstand out of its one side, and three branches of the lampstand out of its other side; 33three cups shaped like almonds in the one branch, a knob and a flower; and three cups shaped like almonds in the other branch, a knob and a flower; so for the six branches going out from the lampstand.

34And in the lampstand four cups shaped like almonds, its knobs and its flowers. 35And a knob under two branches from it, and a knob under two branches from it, and a knob under two branches from it—for the six branches going out from the lampstand. 36Their knobs and their branches shall be from it; all of it one beaten work of pure gold.

37And you shall make its seven lamps; and he shall set up its lamps, and give light over against its front. 38And its tongs and its fire-pans shall be of pure gold. 39Of a talent of pure gold he shall make it, with all these vessels.

40And see, and make them after their pattern which you are being shown on the mountain.

The Ten Curtains for the Tabernacle

26:1And the tabernacle you shall make of ten curtains: of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet—cherubim, the work of a designer, you shall make them. 2The length of the one curtain twenty-eight by the cubit, and the breadth four by the cubit, the one curtain: one measure for all the curtains.

3Five of the curtains shall be joined a woman to her sister; and five curtains joined a woman to her sister. 4And you shall make loops of blue upon the edge of the one curtain at the end in the joining; and likewise you shall make on the edge of the outermost curtain in the second coupling.

5Fifty loops you shall make in the one curtain, and fifty loops you shall make at the end of the curtain which is in the second coupling; the loops being opposite a woman to her sister. 6And you shall make fifty clasps of gold, and join the curtains a woman to her sister with the clasps; and the tabernacle shall be one.

The Eleven Curtains of Goat Hair

7And you shall make curtains of goats' hair for a tent over the tabernacle; eleven curtains you shall make them. 8The length of the one curtain thirty by the cubit, and the breadth four by the cubit, the one curtain: one measure for the eleven curtains.

9And you shall join five of the curtains by themselves, and six of the curtains by themselves; and you shall double over the sixth curtain toward the front of the tent.

10And you shall make fifty loops upon the edge of the one outermost curtain in the joining, and fifty loops upon the edge of the curtain of the second coupling. 11And you shall make fifty clasps of bronze, and bring the clasps into the loops, and join the tent together, that it may be one.

12And the overhang that remains over in the curtains of the tent—the half curtain that remains over shall hang over the back of the tabernacle. 13And the cubit on this side, and the cubit on that side, of that which remains over in the length of the curtains of the tent, shall be hanging over the sides of the tabernacle on this side and on that side, to cover it.

14And you shall make a covering for the tent of rams' skins dyed red, and a covering of tachash skins above.

5:26And the LORD gave wisdom to Solomon, as he had spoken to him; and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and the two of them cut a covenant.

Solomon’s Labor Force

27And king Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men. 28And he sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses; a month they were in Lebanon, two months at his house; and Adoniram was over the levy. 29And Solomon had seventy thousand bearing burdens, and eighty thousand hewing in the mountain, 30besides the chief officers of Solomon who were over the work, three thousand and three hundred, who ruled over the people doing the work.

31And the king commanded, and they quarried great stones, costly stones, to lay the foundation of the house with hewn stones. 32And the builders of Solomon and the builders of Hiram and the Gebalites hewed; and they prepared the timber and the stones to build the house.

Temple Construction Begins

6:1And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year of the going out of the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt, in the fourth year, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, of Solomon's reigning over Israel, that he built the house for the LORD.

2And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, sixty cubits was its length, and twenty its breadth, and thirty cubits its height. 3And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was its length, across the breadth of the house, and ten cubits its breadth before the house.

4And for the house he made windows with recessed frames, narrowing.

The Chambers

5And against the wall of the house he built a side-structure round about, against the walls of the house round about, for the temple and for the oracle; and he made side-chambers round about. 6The lowest side-structure was five cubits in its breadth, and the middle six cubits in its breadth, and the third seven cubits in its breadth; for he gave offsets to the house round about on the outside, so as not to take hold in the walls of the house.

7And the house, when it was built, was built of whole stone made ready at the quarry; and hammers and the axe, any tool of iron, was not heard in the house when it was built.

8The opening of the middle side-chamber was at the right shoulder of the house; and by winding stairs they would go up to the middle one, and from the middle to the third.

9And he built the house and finished it; and he covered the house with beams and panels of cedar. 10And he built the side-structure against all the house, five cubits its height; and it held fast to the house with timbers of cedar.

God’s Promise to Solomon

11And the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying: 12"This house which you are building—if you walk in my statutes, and do my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them, then I will establish my word with you which I spoke to David your father; 13and I will dwell in the midst of the sons of Israel, and I will not forsake my people Israel."

Messiah’s Eternal Priesthood

8:1Now the main point of what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest — one who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, 2a minister of the holy things and of the true tent, which the Lord set up, not man. 3For every high priest is appointed to offer offerings and sacrifices; thus it is necessary for this one also to have something to offer.

4Now if He were on earth, He would not be a priest at all, since there are priests who offer offerings according to the law. 5They serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, just as Moses was warned when he was about to erect the tent — for He says, "See that you make everything according to the pattern that was shown to you on the mountain."

The New Covenant

6But as it is, Yeshua has obtained a more excellent priestly service, as He is the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises.

Dates and Torah and Haftarah ranges are calculated with Hebcal (diaspora schedule, Hebrew verse numbering, which the YLV Old Testament follows). The Apostolic Writings pairings are chosen by Bible Homes Inc. Scripture: Yeshua Literal Version (YLV).
