The Eighth Plague: Locusts
10:1And the LORD said to Moses, "Go to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the heart of his servants, in order that I may set these my signs in his midst, 2and in order that you may recount in the ears of your son and your son's son how I have dealt ruthlessly with Egypt, and my signs which I set among them; that you may know that I am the LORD."
3And Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said to him, "Thus says the LORD, the God of the Hebrews: How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, that they may serve me." 4"For if you refuse to let my people go, behold, tomorrow I am bringing locusts into your border; 5and it shall cover the eye of the land, so that one is not able to see the land; and it shall eat the remainder of what escaped, that which remains to you from the hail, and it shall eat every tree that grows for you from the field. 6And your houses shall be filled, and the houses of all your servants, and the houses of all Egypt — which neither your fathers nor your fathers' fathers have seen, from the day they were upon the ground until this day." And he turned and went out from with Pharaoh.
7And Pharaoh's servants said to him, "How long shall this be a snare to us? Let the men go, that they may serve the LORD their God. Do you not yet know that Egypt is destroyed?"
8And Moses and Aaron were brought back to Pharaoh, and he said to them, "Go, serve the LORD your God. Who and who are the ones going?"
9And Moses said, "With our young and with our old we will go; with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds we will go, for a feast of the LORD is for us."
10And he said to them, "May the LORD be so with you, just as I let you go and your little ones! See that evil is before your faces. 11Not so; go now, you men, and serve the LORD, for that is what you are seeking." And they were driven out from the presence of Pharaoh.

10:12And the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that it may come up over the land of Egypt and eat every herb of the land, all that the hail has left."
13And Moses stretched out his staff over the land of Egypt, and the LORD drove a wind of the east in the land all that day and all the night; the morning came, and the wind of the east carried the locusts.
14And the locusts came up over all the land of Egypt and rested in all the border of Egypt; very heavy were they. Before them there were no such locusts as they, and after them there will not be so. 15And it covered the eye of all the land, and the land was darkened; and it ate every herb of the land and all the fruit of the tree that the hail had left; and there remained not any green thing on the tree or in the herb of the field in all the land of Egypt.
16And Pharaoh hastened to call for Moses and Aaron, and he said, "I have sinned against the LORD your God and against you. 17And now, forgive, please, my sin only this time, and entreat the LORD your God, that he may turn aside from me only this death."
18And he went out from with Pharaoh and entreated the LORD. 19And the LORD turned a very strong wind of the sea, and it carried the locusts and thrust them into the Sea of Reeds; there remained not one locust in all the border of Egypt.
20And the LORD strengthened Pharaoh's heart, and he did not let the children of Israel go.
The Ninth Plague: Darkness
21And the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand toward the heavens, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, and let one feel the darkness."
22And Moses stretched out his hand toward the heavens, and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days. 23They did not see, a man his brother, nor did anyone rise, a man, from his place for three days; but for all the children of Israel there was light in their dwellings.

10:24And Pharaoh called to Moses and said, "Go, serve the LORD; only your flocks and your herds shall be left behind; your little ones also shall go with you."
25And Moses said, "You also must give into our hand sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may offer them to the LORD our God. 26And also our livestock shall go with us; not a hoof shall be left, for from it we will take to serve the LORD our God; and we ourselves do not know with what we shall serve the LORD until we come there."
27And the LORD strengthened Pharaoh's heart, and he was not willing to let them go. 28And Pharaoh said to him, "Go from me! Guard yourself; do not see my face again, for in the day you see my face you shall die."
29And Moses said, "You have spoken rightly; I will not see your face again."
The Plague on the Firstborn Foretold
11:1And the LORD said to Moses, "Yet one plague I will bring upon Pharaoh and upon Egypt; afterward he will let you go from here. When he lets you go altogether, he will surely drive you out from here. 2Speak now in the ears of the people, and let them ask, each man from his neighbor and each woman from her neighbor, articles of silver and articles of gold."
3And the LORD gave the people favor in the eyes of Egypt. Also the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the eyes of Pharaoh's servants and in the eyes of the people.

11:4And Moses said, "Thus says the LORD: About midnight I am going out into the midst of Egypt, 5and every firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne to the firstborn of the maidservant who is behind the mill, and every firstborn of beast. 6And there shall be a great cry in all the land of Egypt, such as there has not been, and such as there will not be again. 7But against all the children of Israel not a dog shall sharpen its tongue, against man or beast; that you may know that the LORD makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel. 8And all these your servants shall come down to me and bow down to me, saying, 'Go out, you and all the people who are at your feet,' and after that I will go out." And he went out from with Pharaoh in burning anger.
9And the LORD said to Moses, "Pharaoh will not listen to you, in order that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt."
10And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh; and the LORD strengthened Pharaoh's heart, and he did not let the children of Israel go out from his land.
The First Passover
12:1And the LORD said to Moses and to Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, 2"This month shall be for you the head of months; it is first for you of the months of the year.
3Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: On the tenth of this month they shall take for themselves, each man a lamb for a father's house, a lamb for the household. 4And if the household is too little for a lamb, then he and his neighbor who is near to his house shall take according to the number of souls; each man according to the mouth of his eating you shall make your count for the lamb.
5A lamb without blemish, a male, a son of a year, shall be for you; from the sheep or from the goats you shall take it. 6And he shall be for you for a charge before(ad עד) the fourteenth day of this month; and all the assembly of the congregation of Israel shall offer him between the evenings. 7And they shall take from the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel, upon the houses in which they eat him.
8And they shall eat the meat in this night, roasted with fire, and unleavened bread; with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
9Do not eat from him raw, nor boiled at all in water, but roasted with fire — his head with his legs and with his inner parts. 10And you shall not leave any of him until morning; and that which remains of him until morning you shall burn with fire.
11And thus you shall eat him: your loins girded, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat him in haste — it is the Passover to the LORD.
12And I will pass through the land of Egypt in this night, and I will strike every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from man to beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments — I am the LORD. 13And the blood shall be for you for a sign on the houses where you are; and I will see the blood and will pass over you, and there shall be no plague upon you to destroy when I strike the land of Egypt.
The Feast of Unleavened Bread
14And this day shall be for you for a memorial, and you shall keep it as a feast to the LORD; throughout your generations, as a statute forever, you shall keep it as a feast. 15Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread; surely on the first day you shall remove leaven from your houses; for everyone eating leavened bread, from the first day until the seventh day — that soul shall be cut off from Israel.
16And on the first day a holy convocation, and on the seventh day a holy convocation shall be for you; no work shall be done in them, except what must be eaten by every soul — that alone may be done for you.
17And you shall keep the unleavened bread, for on this very day I brought your hosts out from the land of Egypt; and you shall keep this day throughout your generations as a statute forever. 18In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, in the evening, you shall eat unleavened bread, until the twenty-first day of the month, in the evening. 19Seven days leaven shall not be found in your houses; for everyone eating what is leavened — that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether sojourner or native of the land. 20You shall eat nothing leavened; in all your dwellings you shall eat unleavened bread."

12:21And Moses called for all the elders of Israel and said to them, "Draw out and take for yourselves a flock according to your families, and offer the Passover. 22And you shall take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and touch the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin; and as for you, no man shall go out from the door of his house until morning.
23And the LORD will pass through to strike Egypt, and he will see the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts; and the LORD will pass over the door and will not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike.
24And you shall keep this thing as a statute for you and for your sons forever. 25And it shall be, when you come to the land that the LORD will give you, just as he has spoken, that you shall keep this service.
26And it shall be, when your sons say to you, 'What is this service to you?' 27that you shall say, 'It is a sacrifice of Passover to the LORD, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt when he struck Egypt and delivered our houses.'" And the people bowed down and worshipped. 28And the children of Israel went and did so; just as the LORD had commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did.

The Tenth Plague: Death of the Firstborn
12:29And it came to pass at midnight that the LORD struck every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the house of the pit, and every firstborn of beast.
30And Pharaoh rose by night, he and all his servants and all Egypt; and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was no house where there was not one dead.
The Exodus Begins
31And he called for Moses and Aaron by night and said, "Rise up, go out from the midst of my people, both you and the children of Israel; and go, serve the LORD as you have said. 32Take both your flocks and your herds, just as you have said, and go; and bless me also."
33And Egypt was strong upon the people, to hasten to send them out from the land, for they said, "We are all dead." 34And the people took up their dough before it was leavened, their kneading troughs bound up in their garments upon their shoulders.
35And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses, and they asked from Egypt articles of silver and articles of gold and garments. 36And the LORD gave the people favor in the eyes of Egypt, so that they let them have what they asked; and they plundered Egypt.
37And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot, apart from the little ones. 38And also a great mixed multitude went up with them, and flocks and herds, very much livestock.
39And they baked the dough that they had brought out from Egypt into cakes of unleavened bread, for it was not leavened; because they were driven out from Egypt and could not delay, and also they had not prepared provisions for themselves.
40And the dwelling of the children of Israel, that they dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years. 41And it came to pass at the end of four hundred and thirty years — and it came to pass on this very day — that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt. 42It is a night of watching for the LORD, for bringing them out from the land of Egypt; this is that night of watching for the LORD for all the children of Israel throughout their generations.
Instructions for the Passover
43And the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, "This is the statute of the Passover: no son of a foreigner shall eat of him. 44But every man's servant, bought with money — when you have circumcised him, then he may eat of him. 45A sojourner and a hired servant shall not eat of him.
46In one house he shall be eaten; you shall not bring any of the meat outside from the house, and you shall not break a bone in him.
47All the congregation of Israel shall do it. 48And when a sojourner sojourns with you and would make a Passover to the LORD, let every male belonging to him be circumcised, and then let him draw near to do it, and he shall be as a native of the land; but no uncircumcised person shall eat of him. 49One Torah shall be for the native and for the sojourner who sojourns among you."
50And all the children of Israel did so; just as the LORD had commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did. 51And it came to pass on this very day that the LORD brought the children of Israel out from the land of Egypt by their hosts.

The Dedication of the Firstborn
13:1And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: 2"Sanctify to me every firstborn, the opener of every womb among the sons of Israel, among man and among beast; it is mine."
3And Moses said to the people, "Remember this day in which you came out from Egypt, from the house of slaves; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place; and no leavened bread shall be eaten.
4This day you are going out, in the month of Abib. 5And it shall be, when the LORD brings you to the land of the Canaanite and the Hittite and the Amorite and the Hivite and the Jebusite, which he swore to your fathers to give to you, a land flowing with milk and honey, that you shall serve this service in this month.
6Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day is a feast to the LORD. 7Unleavened bread shall be eaten the seven days; and no leavened bread shall be seen with you, and no leaven shall be seen with you, in all your borders.
8And you shall tell your son in that day, saying, 'It is because of this which the LORD did for me when I came out from Egypt.' 9And it shall be for you for a sign upon your hand, and for a memorial between your eyes, so that the Torah of the LORD may be in your mouth; for with a strong hand the LORD brought you out from Egypt. 10And you shall keep this statute at its appointed time (mo-ed) from days to days.
11And it shall be, when the LORD brings you to the land of the Canaanite, as he swore to you and to your fathers, and gives it to you, 12that you shall cause to pass over to the LORD every opener of the womb; and every firstling, the offspring of a beast which shall be yours, the males, are to the LORD. 13And every firstling of a donkey you shall redeem with a sheep; and if you do not redeem it, then you shall break its neck. And every firstborn of man among your sons you shall redeem.
14And it shall be, when your son asks you tomorrow, saying, 'What is this?' that you shall say to him, 'By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house of slaves; 15and it came to pass, when Pharaoh hardened himself against sending us out, that the LORD killed every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of man to the firstborn of beast. Therefore I sacrifice to the LORD every opener of the womb, the males; and every firstborn of my sons I redeem.' 16And it shall be for a sign upon your hand, and for frontlets between your eyes; for by strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt."

46:13The word that the LORD spoke to Jeremiah the prophet, of the coming of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon to smite the land of Egypt.
14Declare in Egypt, and proclaim in Migdol, and proclaim in Noph and in Tahpanhes; say, "Stand forth and prepare yourself, for the sword has devoured those around you."
15Why is your strong one swept away? He did not stand, because the LORD thrust him down.
16He made many stumble; indeed, a man fell against his neighbor, and they said, "Arise, and let us return to our own people, and to the land of our birth, from before the oppressing sword."
17They cried there, "Pharaoh king of Egypt is a noise; he has let the appointed time (mo-ed) pass by."
18As I live, declares the King, the LORD of hosts is his name, surely like Tabor among the mountains, and like Carmel by the sea, he shall come.
19Make for yourself vessels for exile, O inhabitant, daughter of Egypt; for Noph shall become a desolation, and shall be laid waste, without inhabitant.
20Egypt is a very fair heifer; a gadfly out of the north has come, it has come.
21Also her hired men in her midst are like calves of the stall; for they too have turned, they have fled together, they did not stand; for the day of their calamity has come upon them, the time of their visitation.
22Her voice goes like the serpent's; for they march with an army, and they come against her with axes, like hewers of wood.
23They have cut down her forest, declares the LORD, though it cannot be searched; for they are more than the locusts, and they are without number.
24The daughter of Egypt is put to shame; she is given into the hand of the people of the north.
25The LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, says, "Behold, I am visiting punishment upon Amon of No, and upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt, and upon her gods, and upon her kings, even upon Pharaoh, and upon those who trust in him; 26and I will give them into the hand of those who seek their soul, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants; and afterward it shall be inhabited as in the days of old, declares the LORD.
27But you, do not fear, O Jacob my servant, and do not be dismayed, O Israel; for behold, I am saving you from afar, and your seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return and be quiet and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.
28You, do not fear, O Jacob my servant, declares the LORD, for I am with you; for I will make a full end of all the nations to which I have driven you, but of you I will not make a full end; and I will correct you with judgment, and I will by no means leave you unpunished.

5:6Your boasting is not good; do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? 7Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, just as you are unleavened; for Messiah our Passover has been sacrificed for us. 8Therefore let us celebrate the feast, not with old leaven nor with leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Yeshua’ Side Is Pierced
19:31Then the Jews, because it was the day of preparation, so that the bodies would not remain on the cross on the sabbaton 'for that sabbaton was a high day', asked Pilate that their legs might be broken and that they might be taken away. 32So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first man and of the other who was crucified with Him;
33but coming to Yeshua, when they saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs. 34But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. 35And he who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he tells what is true, so that you also may believe.
36For these things came to pass to fulfill the scripture: "Not a bone of Him shall be broken." 37And again another scripture says: "They shall look on Him whom they pierced."
