Psalms 82

1A Psalm, of Asaph. God stands in the congregation of God; in the midst of the gods he judges.

2Until when will you judge with injustice, and lift up the faces of the wicked? Selah.

3Judge the poor and the orphan; do justice to the afflicted and the destitute.

4Rescue the poor and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

5They do not know, and they do not understand; in darkness they walk about; all the foundations of the earth totter.

6I said, "You are gods, and sons of the Most High (Elyon), all of you."

7Nevertheless like man (adam) you shall die, and like one of the princes you shall fall.

8Arise, God, judge the earth; for you shall inherit among all the nations.
