Psalms 29

1A Psalm of David. Give to YHWH, O sons of mighty ones, give to YHWH glory and strength.

2Give to YHWH the glory of his name; bow down to YHWH in the splendor of holiness.

3The voice of YHWH is upon the waters; the God of glory thunders, YHWH upon many waters.

4The voice of YHWH is in power; the voice of YHWH is in majesty.

5The voice of YHWH breaks cedars; and YHWH shatters the cedars of Lebanon.

6And he makes them skip like a calf, Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild-ox.

7The voice of YHWH hews out flames of fire.

8The voice of YHWH makes the wilderness writhe; YHWH makes the wilderness of Kadesh writhe.

9The voice of YHWH makes the does to writhe and strips the forests bare; and in his temple, all of it says, "Glory!"

10YHWH sat enthroned at the flood; and YHWH sits as King forever.

11YHWH will give strength to his people; YHWH will bless his people with peace.
