Psalms 20

1For the chief musician. A psalm of David.

2May YHWH answer you in the day of trouble; may the name of the God of Jacob set you on high.

3May he send your help from the sanctuary, and from Zion may he support you.

4May he remember all your meal offerings, and your burnt offering may he regard as fat. Selah.

5May he give to you according to your heart, and all your counsel may he fulfill.

6We will sing for joy in your salvation (yeshuah), and in the name of our God we will lift up a banner; may YHWH fulfill all your petitions.

7Now I know that YHWH has saved (yasha) his anointed; he answers him from his holy heavens with the mighty acts of the salvation of his right hand.

8Some in chariots and some in horses, but we, in the name of YHWH our God, we make mention.

9They have bowed down and fallen, but we have risen and stood upright.

10YHWH, save (yasha)! May the King answer us in the day we call.
