Psalms 146

1Praise Yah! Praise, O my soul (nephesh), YHWH.

2I will praise YHWH in my life (chai); I will sing praises to my God while I yet am.

3Do not trust in nobles, in a son of man (adam), in whom there is no deliverance.

4His spirit (ruach) goes forth, he returns to his ground (adamah); in that day his thoughts perish.

5Happy is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is upon YHWH his God,

6Maker of the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them; who keeps truth forever;

7who executes judgment (mishpat) for the oppressed, who gives bread to the hungry. YHWH looses the prisoners;

8YHWH opens the eyes of the blind; YHWH raises up those bowed down; YHWH loves the righteous;

9YHWH keeps the strangers; the fatherless and the widow he upholds; but the way of the wicked he makes crooked.

10YHWH shall reign forever, your God, O Zion, to generation and generation. Praise Yah.
