Psalms 137
By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat, also we wept, when we remembered Zion.
Upon the willows in its midst we hung up our harps.
For there our captors asked of us words of song, and our tormentors mirth: "Sing to us from a song of Zion!"
How shall we sing the song of YHWH upon the ground (adamah) of a foreigner?
If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget.
Let my tongue cleave to my palate, if I do not remember you, if I do not lift up Jerusalem above the head of my joy.
Remember, YHWH, for the sons of Edom the day of Jerusalem, who said: "Lay it bare, lay it bare, to the foundation in it!"
O daughter of Babylon, who is to be devastated, happy is he who repays you your recompense that you dealt to us.
Happy is he who seizes and dashes your little ones against the rock.
